These lines are available in two different models: a short (SHORT CUT) and a long head (DISTANCE). They are exactly the same weight for the same line rating – only the length is different. For instance, if you fish an LPXe 13' 8/9, you can choose either a SHORT CUT or a DISTANCE 8/9-weight line for your rod. The purpose of our system is to help you fish as efficiently as possible in a variety of conditions. A DISTANCE head works better in certain situations and a SHORT CUT in others.

A short head that's easy to lift out of the water. It's a great length when fishing in restricted situations such as with high banks or overhanging trees behind, and when wading deep. The SHORT CUT model is also the preferred choice for anglers fishing shorter rods or for those new to double-handed fishing.
