Wing burners provide the quickest way to make matched pairs of perfectly shaped wings every time. Just place a feather in the wing burner and squeeze to hold it in exact position. Then burn off the excess. Soft body plumage works best for mayfly dun and adult caddis wings. More coarse body plumage is appropriate for larger stone fly nymph wing cases. Try forming your next mayfly spinner wings from shaped dry fly hackle.
