TFG Force 8 Bivvy is Reliable
When you need a Bivvy that's completely waterproof, structurally solid in high winds and very easy to assemble and disassemble, the TFG 8 is a Force to be reckoned with. It easily accommodates 2 people comfortably with plenty of spare room for kit including tackle bags, fishing gear and more. It's also got a handy porch area where you can prepare baits or food in a sheltered space. In terms of value, TF Gear have got this one right. Off the bat it's one of the best bivvys on the market with features and function to rival any bivvy in the £250 plus mark
Hydrostatic Force to be Reckoned with
Whether it's a tent, bivvy or shelter you buy, waterproofing is determined by Hydrostatic Pressure. This is the amount of pressure or weight exerting a downward force from above (rain, sleet, snow). So the higher the hydrostatic head, the more waterproof it is. And what's really impressive about TF Gear's 2 man bivvy is that it has a hydrostatic head of 3,000 mm - which is pretty high - therefore it will take a significant amount of water to cause a leak. So it would take a 3 metre column of water, and resulting force, to penetrate. The caveat is that in the UK, products with a hydrostatic head of 2000m or more can easily cope with standard British weather and rainfall, so you can be confident that the Force 8 is force to be reckoned with - hydrostatically speaking of course
A Force 8 Gale Bivvy?
TF Gear have clearly taken wind speeds into consideration when designing this excellent Bivvy. All to often when anglers encounter strong winds in excess of 30mph, cheaper bivvy's struggle to maintain their structural integrity. For the poles, pegs and seams, too much force can place a lot of pressure on the key elements. But not the Force 8. It has been designed and tested to remain solid in strong winds. For example the Beaufort Scale classifies a Force 8 Gale as 62-74km/h with a equivalent wind speed of 39-46mph. Normally during these types of conditions most anglers would struggle to put up their accommodation for the night, but not the TFG Force 8 Bivvy.
This bivvy can be effortlessly set up in less than 20 seconds; this is thanks to its revolutionary central hub system that quickly pulls the strong flexi ribs into place, it is then just a simple matter of sliding the Flash-Touch power lock into position and this all season shelter is ready to go. Twinned skinned to maximise comfort, the Force 8 creates a warm, thermally insulated condensation free environment guaranteeing full protection against the worst weather imaginable. Even winds up to and above 40mph
